Luke Powell

Luke Powell is Managing Partner of Macfarlanes, currently serving his second three-year term. He joined the firm in 2004, having trained at Slaughter and May, and became a Partner in 2007. Before taking up his current role, he co-headed the firm’s Corporate and M&A team. Luke advises on complex transactions across financial services, asset management and private equity (both buy-outs and secondaries). Under his leadership, Macfarlanes has experienced strong financial performance and continued to invest in its long-term growth. He has been recognised by Financial News as one of the most influential lawyers in Europe in successive years.
