S&W accelerates growth of business tax practice two Partner appointments
S&W, the fast-growing professional services group, has strengthened its business tax practice with the appointment of two new Partners, further expanding its capabilities in key areas of growing client demand and continuing its investment in specialist tax expertise.
Karim Budabuss has joined the firm's growing R&D tax incentives team, bringing specialist expertise in grants, innovation funding and location strategy, while Philippe Gamito has joined the indirect tax team, strengthening S&W's VAT advisory capabilities with particular expertise in the fintech sector.
The appointments mark another significant milestone in the growth of S&W's business tax team, as the firm continues to attract senior talent and broaden its specialist offering to help businesses navigate an increasingly complex tax landscape.
Karim Budabuss joins S&W from ForrestBrown and brings over 14 years of experience in engineering, innovation incentives, and location strategy consulting. Combining technical expertise with commercial insight, he helps businesses identify and secure funding opportunities for innovation, investment, and growth in the UK and internationally. He advises organisations on accessing public funding, optimising innovation incentives, and making strategic expansion decisions. He has extensive experience helping businesses secure support from innovation agencies, economic development organisations, and government-backed programmes to drive growth and competitiveness.
Philippe Gamito joins S&W from Baker McKenzie and has more than 15 years of experience advising financial services businesses across Europe, having worked in Belgium, France and the UK. He specialises in VAT relating to financial services, insurance and crypto, supporting clients on cross-border operations, restructuring projects and complex international transactions.
