S&W enters French market with acquisition of Paris-based Vachon
S&W, the fast-growing professional services group, is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement to acquire Vachon , a Paris-based accountancy firm specialising in supporting foreign-owned companies operating in France and premium mid-market and small French businesses
The acquisition marks a significant milestone in S&W’s international expansion strategy - backed by Apax Funds, which acquired the firm in March 2025 – and to further strengthen its ability to support clients across Europe. Following S&W’s two acquisitions in Ireland last year, the addition of Vachon enhances the firm’s growing cross border capabilities and deepens the support it provides to internationally active businesses.
Established in 1997, Vachon delivers audit, accounting, tax, payroll and advisory services to SMEs, mid-sized businesses and large international groups, as well as, family offices, private investors, investment funds and their portfolio companies. The firm’s 60 strong bilingual team - which includes 14 Partners - is recognised for its deep audit and accounting expertise notably in international accounting standards and cross-border tax and payroll frameworks.
The company will continue to operate under the Vachon brand.
Andrew Wilkes, CEO of S&W, commented: “The acquisition of Vachon represents an important milestone in our international expansion strategy. France is a key market for many of our clients, and Vachon’s deep expertise, bilingual capabilities and strong reputation for technical excellence make them an ideal partner.
“The team’s specialist knowledge of French accounting requirements complements our existing offering and strengthens our ability to support clients expanding into Europe. We are delighted to welcome the Vachon team to S&W.”
Bertrand Vachon, Founding Partner at Vachon, said: “Joining S&W marks an exciting new chapter for our firm and our clients. It is the natural evolution of our international strategy. For nearly 30 years, we have supported leading French and international companies navigating the complexities of the French financial and regulatory environment.
“Becoming part of S&W expands the support we can offer to clients across multiple markets, while maintaining the personalised, bilingual service we are known for. We look forward to the opportunities this brings for both our team and the businesses we serve.”
