Alex Adkins

Alex is an Audit Director based in S&W's London office, leading one of the firm's Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) audit teams. He is passionate about delivering a hands-on, director-led audit experience, building long-term relationships with clients and supporting them at every stage of their growth journey.

Working with businesses ranging from ambitious start-ups and scale-ups to large UK and international groups, Alex combines technical expertise with a practical, commercial approach. He helps clients navigate complex financial reporting requirements while providing valuable insights that support stronger governance, improved controls and sustainable growth.

Experience

Alex joined S&W from Grant Thornton in 2022 and has extensive experience delivering audits under both IFRS and UK GAAP.

He works with a diverse portfolio of clients across the technology and recruitment sectors, supporting businesses at different stages of development, from entrepreneur-led growth companies to established international groups. His sector expertise includes software and SaaS businesses, technology-enabled services companies, and temporary and permanent recruitment agencies.

Alex has a particular focus on controls-based auditing and works closely with management teams to identify opportunities to strengthen financial processes, improve governance and enhance internal controls. His practical advice helps businesses prepare for future transactions, investment events and exits, while also supporting the day-to-day operation of a robust control environment.
