Ben Hanslip is a Partner in S&W’s Forensic Services team and a specialist maritime expert witness focusing on quantum and market evidence in complex shipping disputes. He has served as a named expert in High Court proceedings and LMAA, ICC, and SIAC arbitration.
Experience
Ben brings deep commercial shipping knowledge together with valuation and accounting capability – a combination rarely found in a single expert. His work sits at this intersection, allowing him to explain the commercial realities behind maritime claims to lawyers, tribunals and courts.
His work spans vessel and fleet valuation; quantum and loss analysis, including loss of hire, lost profits, DCF modelling; freight, market and operational evidence; charterparty, bill of lading, sale-and-purchase disputes; and sanctions and shadow-fleet related matters.
At Kroll, Ben was responsible for leading maritime related valuation engagements for alternative investment fund managers across Europe and the US. He previously worked at Clarksons.
