Introducing the Fair Work Agency - what you need to know
S&W’s employer solutions team is hosting a webinar focused on the introduction of the Fair Work Agency, what it means for employers and what employers may want to do to prepare before April 2026.
About the event
The government has confirmed that the new state enforcement body, the Fair Work Agency, will be introduced from April 2026, and Matthew Taylor has been appointed as its chairperson.
While it is now widely acknowledged that compliance with the National Minimum Wage (NMW) can be difficult for employers given the complexity of the regulations, the Fair Work Agency will bring together three different government departments responsible for enforcing workers’ rights and introduce enforcement on new areas, such as holiday pay. It comes as there is both an increased HMRC focus on ensuring workers are receiving the pay they are entitled to and intense media scrutiny on fair pay.
