S&W appoints Payroll Director to strengthen business outsourcing services team

S&W, the professional services group, is delighted to welcome Alex Scott-Ruddock as Payroll Director, further strengthening its business outsourcing services team and signalling the firm’s continued investment in growing its national payroll offering.
Alex joins S&W from MHA, where he was Senior Payroll Manager and a member of the national payroll management team. He led operations across multiple offices including Edinburgh, Cardiff and London, and brings with him over sixteen years of payroll experience – more than a decade of which has been spent in bureau payroll.
His expertise spans several specialist areas including payrolling of benefits and payroll compliance. Having worked through major industry changes such as RTI, gender pay gap reporting, the Apprenticeship Levy, furlough, and the upcoming payrolling of benefits, Alex brings a deep understanding of the evolving payroll landscape. He has supported clients across a wide range of sectors including finance, law, universities, hospitality and retail.
Alex is a full member of the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) and has contributed to policy think tanks on RTI reporting and national minimum wage developments with the Low Pay Commission.
