S&W, the fast-growing professional services group, has appointed Matthew Roach as Partner, further strengthening its London business tax practice and real estate capabilities.

Matthew joins the London real estate team with more than 20 years of specialist experience in real estate and funds tax. Previously a Partner at KPMG, and a Managing Director at Interpath, Matthew has advised on many of the UK and Europe’s largest property transactions. He also specialises in fund structuring, real estate finance and loan portfolio transactions, and advised across the client spectrum from the biggest private equity real estate and alternative funds, to mid-market and entrepreneurial investors.

This marks the second senior hire in the London tax team this week, following the appointment of Kersten Muller as Head of Business Tax London. Together, these appointments underscore S&W’s commitment to continue growing its market-leading tax capability.

Mark Webb, Head of Business Tax at S&W, commented: “Matthew’s appointment is a significant step in expanding our London tax practice and enhancing our real estate capabilities. His deep expertise in real estate tax and experience advising on complex, high-value transactions will enable us to deliver even greater value to clients.”

Matthew Roach added: “I’m excited to join S&W at such a pivotal time in its growth journey. The firm’s ambition and collaborative culture really stood out to me, and I look forward to working with Mark, Kersten and the wider team to help clients navigate complex real estate tax challenges and achieve their strategic goals.”
