S&W Bristol team helps secure five new defibrillator locations through volunteer day with Great Western Air Ambulance Charity

Working alongside GWAAC, the team approached local businesses to host public access defibrillators, equipment that can prove a critical resource in cardiac emergencies. Their efforts resulted in completing the installation of five new defibrillators across the city, helping to make life-saving equipment more accessible to local communities.

The devices have been installed at the following locations:
•    Fixx Bike Workshop, Hartcliffe and Withywood
•    St Barnabas Church, Knowle
•    St Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Clifton
•    Supreme Sports Lounge, (BS5)
•    Bristol Carpet Company Limited, Fishponds

Joe Hughes, Partnerships Manager, GWAAC said: “If everyone in this country experiencing a cardiac arrest received early CPR and early defibrillation, survival rates could increase from around 6% to as high as 74%. Much like the Great Western Air Ambulance Charity, you never know when you’re going to need a defibrillator. Thanks to the volunteering time and support from S&W, five new public access defibrillators are now in communities where they’re most needed, and their cash donation will help our Critical Care Team reach anyone who needs us, when it matters most”.
