S&W eyes growth in South West with move to prestigious new Bristol office
S&W, the leading professional services group, has signalled its growth ambitions for the South West by re-locating its Bristol office to expanded premises at the EQ building.
The firm, which was previously part of Evelyn Partners, has moved its 170-strong Bristol team to the new development at 111 Victoria Street, just a short walk from Bristol Temple Meads train station.
S&W’s new Bristol office provides a first-class working environment for staff, while clients will benefit from a new suite of meeting rooms and event spaces, including an outdoor terrace with views across the city.
EQ has been designed to meet excellent standards of environmental and energy efficiency, including target accreditations of BREEAM Outstanding and Targeted EPC A. The building is all electric with solar panels, rainwater is collected and reused, and there is an aim of zero waste being sent to landfill.
S&W combines the heritage of Smith & Williamson, which was founded in 1881, with a new brand and philosophies to cement its leadership position in the accountancy mid-market. The Bristol office – which was previously located at Portwall Place – provides a broad range of services to individuals and businesses including audit, accountancy, corporate finance, outsourcing services and personal and business tax. It works with entrepreneurs, SMEs, medium and large corporates, private clients, professional practices and not for profit organisations.
The Bristol office is highly active in the local community having raised nearly £18,000 for a range of charitable causes in 2024 while also participating in numerous community events. Colleagues regularly contribute to volunteering and community and most recently have supported Great Western Air Ambulance Charity to locate additional defibrillators in the city, collected sanitary products for Period Friendly Places to help beat period poverty in Bristol and worked with Spear to welcome a group of local young people into the office to help prepare them for the world of work.
Helen Bassett, Regional Managing Partner of S&W’s Bristol office commented:
“Coming hot on the heels of the launch of our new brand, we are delighted to have re-located our expanding Bristol team to the prestigious EQ development. The move provides a launchpad for us to continue our regional growth strategy, supporting our ambition to help more clients in the South West better manage their personal and business affairs.
“Our new office at EQ provides a contemporary and smart working environment for our people and clients in a dynamic area of Bristol, with views over Bristol’s iconic Temple Meads station. The fantastic events spaces at the development will allow us to continue our busy schedule of seminars for clients and the wider local business community. First on the calendar is our Alumni event on 22 May. Ex-colleagues should register interest by emailing Diane.Smyth@SWgroup.com”
