Andrew's expertise spans regulatory compliance, risk management, and governance, having undertaken expert witness work, performed numerous FCA skilled person reviews, undertaken new authorizations, due diligence assignments, and high-value projects across Market Abuse Regulations, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), the Senior Managers Regime (SM&CR), Consumer Duty, Conduct, Culture, and Board Governance.

Andrew has also served at board level in wealth management, advisory and distribution firms, holding FCA-approved roles overseeing compliance, risk and data protection. His practical experience as a regulated professional allows him to bring valuable insights into the challenges faced by his clients.

Experience

Andrew and his team joined S&W in May 2025 to establish a key new consulting offering, further enhancing S&W’s expertise across the financial services sector. Before this, Andrew led the global regulatory compliance offering at DWF, working with clients across financial services to develop robust compliance frameworks and strategic regulatory solutions.

Through his leadership, he provides forward-thinking regulatory guidance, ensuring businesses effectively navigate evolving regulatory landscapes while maintaining operational efficiency and integrity.Andrew is a seasoned regulatory professional with over 20 years of experience across various sectors of financial services in the UK and internationally. He has held senior positions at top-tier firms, including partnerships at two top-ten accounting firms, where he developed regulatory consulting practices.

Notable achievements

Andrew is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments (CISI), qualified to provide both financial advice and discretionary investment management services under the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII). He is also an experienced FCA Skilled Person and joined the Board of the Association of Professional Compliance Consultants (APCC) with effect from May 2025, while also working with a range of other trade bodies.
