Areas of expertise

Jenny specialises in advising corporate clients on R&D tax reliefs, particularly complex cases ranging from proactive advice on structuring R&D projects and expenditure through to dispute resolution.  

She has worked with R&D intensive businesses from a broad range of sectors, ranging from university spin-outs, to fast growth technology businesses to many of the UK’s leading innovators. She works with both business owners and investors to manage risk and achieve growth ambitions. 

Jenny provides transparent and practical tax advice, helping business navigate an increasingly complex specialist area of tax. 

Experience

Jenny is a Chartered Accountant and ATT fellow with over 20 years of experience in professional services. After more than a decade with KPMG in London, she relocated to the South West to join a specialist consultancy, helping to grow that business successfully and build a reputation for technical expertise and integrity.  

She is a subject matter expert in R&D tax policy, having worked with a number of industry stakeholders on the recent reforms to R&D tax relief. 

Jenny is a regular author of technical and thought leadership content on R&D tax policy and in 2022 was invited to give evidence to Parliament during the House of Lords inquiry into the R&D tax relief reforms.

Jenny has notable experience delivering R&D tax relief claims for multi-billion pound R&D projects. Her clients value her proactive approach, clear communication and strong project and stakeholder management skills, as well as her deep subject matter expertise. 

Jenny also has an excellent track record of resolving HMRC disputes, through the enquiry process, as well as alternative dispute resolution and formal appeals.
