Areas of expertise

Matt specialises in advising on the taxation of UK individuals – specifically entrepreneurs, private business owners and c-suite executives.

Matt focuses on advising business owners on their UK corporate structures, typically in relation to pre-sale & transactional advice. Matt also works with entrepreneurs post-exit, advising them on their tax position in relation to that wealth - focusing on efficient reinvestment and long term succession/IHT planning.

Experience

Matt is a Chartered Tax Adviser and Chartered Accountant who spent 12 years at PwC, latterly leading their Private Client team in the Midlands, before joining Evelyn Partners in October 2022. Matt now leads Evelyn’s Midlands Private Client team and is head of the regional Private Client practice.

Matt has worked exclusively with individuals and private business owners for over 12 years, working on some of the most iconic and high-profile individual clients during his time at PwC.

Matt’s expertise is in the field of entrepreneurial private client tax, advising on all aspects of UK tax, with a strong focus on transactional issues for UK private business owners and onshore trust structures for his UK domiciled clients. Matt is industry agnostic, but has a particular focus on UK property, with his HNW clients being property investors and developers.
