Areas of expertise

Oliver advises internationally focused ultra-high net worth individuals, families and family offices as well as their structures. He advises on a wide range of private client, private company and trust tax and governance issues. Oliver’s current work includes tax multidisciplinary and multi-jurisdictional project management; advice to internationally mobile family offices including tax pre-immigration/emigration planning; funding UK expenditure; structuring for the acquisition, build and maintenance of luxury assets; advice on business interest structures; and advice relating to tax investigations. 

Experience

Before moving to S&W Oliver worked at US Law Firm Baker McKenzie advising ultra-high net worth international families. Before that Oliver spent time at big four firms Deloitte and PwC advising international families on a range of tax and accounting matters, and before that qualified at Moore Stephens LLP where he worked closely with large Greek shipping industry families.

Notable work and achievements

  • Designed and established a new family office layered structure for a Middle Eastern family, to provide an administration function across numerous European and GCC jurisdictions.​

  • Acted for an entrepreneurial family to advise on succession, governance, tax and accounting issues prior to the establishment of a Family Office, and the successful establishment and implementation of the UK based Family Office.​
