Alistair leads S&W’s Financial Services Tax practice. The practice serves client across the sector, and is made up of sector specialists across all areas of tax, including direct, indirect, employment and operational taxes, as well as R&D.
Alistair's personal practice spans tax advisory and transactions, primarily to UK-focused and international financial services businesses. He has a particular focus on insurance, investments and broker markets. He also has significant expertise in both financial and regulatory tax accounting.
Experience
Alistair joined in 2022 having spent most of his career in the Big Four. He also spent time in-house on both secondment and contract roles. Outside his tax expertise, a large part of Alistair’s experience involves leading and working as part of multi-discipline teams, including integrating advisory activity into client programmes effectively and collaboratively.
Notable client work and achievements
Alistair has served on a number of HMRC working groups and has been an active member of industry tax committees for over ten years. Immediately before joining S&W he worked at a high-profile insurance business.
