Experience

Matt is a director in the transaction services team and advises UK and international private equity and corporate clients. He provides financial due diligence, vendor due diligence and SPA advice in respect of acquisitions and refinancings. He also assists clients with project management and process guidance as an ad-hoc trusted advisor.

He joined S&W in January 2021 from PwC where he spent almost ten years between Bristol, Chicago and London. Within transaction services, he focused on upper and mid-market private equity, including a number of ‘buy-and-build’ strategies, as well as being involved in large carve-out and sell-side transactions for multi-national corporates.

He has significant experience in assessing historical and projected financial performance, key business drivers, working capital and carve out issues, as well as SPA and purchase price negotiations. He has deal experience across a range of sectors including business services, technology, telecoms, healthcare and consumer.

  • Substantial recent sell-side experience for businesses valued at £10m - £500m, across recruitment, waste management, housing, healthcare and care services
  • Extensive cross-border expertise on both inbound and outbound transactions in the US and Europe
