Areas of expertise

Oliver works primarily with companies, groups, and corporate clients delivering audits, assurance, reporting and advisory work in a practical way to meet their needs.  He has worked with clients at different stages of their journeys, including scale-ups, family businesses, PE-backed groups and UK subs of large overseas groups.  

Oliver’s current clients operate in a range of sectors, giving him a breadth of understanding of the challenges they face.  These include:

  • Media, marketing, and technology 
  • Professional services firms and other B2B service providers 
  • Creative industries including film, TV and music
  • Not for profits including industry bodies, membership organisations and charities

He also has significant experience in property and construction and automotive sectors.

Experience

After completing a research degree, Oliver initially trained with Harwood Hutton where he qualified and then worked as a manager.

He then moved to a top 20 audit firm in London as a senior manager before rejoining Harwood Hutton in 2022 as an Associate Director, becoming a Director after the merger with Evelyn partners in December 2023.  

Notable client work & achievements

Oliver enjoys turning assurance and compliance work into something that genuinely add value to his clients, getting to know their businesses and forming strong relationships that extend beyond the audit cycle.  

He has supported clients through a range of situations including:

  • Businesses undergoing first year audits following acquired by private equity or large overseas groups
  • Clients making significant overseas acquisitions or disposals
  • Complex technical work for including transition to International Financial Reporting Standards or FRS 101
  • Large group audits across multiple jurisdictions, including liaising and coordinating component auditors, as well as acting as component auditor with a big 4 group auditor

FRS 102 changes: Real estate
