Second provider support
When you need additional support to prepare your statutory accounts, whether to adhere to your auditor’s independence requirements or to streamline internal workloads, a trusted second provider can make all the difference.
Our specialist team delivers compliant statutory accounts that stand up to scrutiny, while freeing up your finance function to stay focused on what matters most.
What do you get from us?
You will benefit from support across the full audit compliance timeline. A dedicated manager from our business outsourcing team will guide you through every stage of your audit journey and provide complete independence from your auditor while delivering high quality UK statutory accounts preparation. We don’t just produce your financial statements, our technical experts stay engaged throughout the process, handling auditor queries on your behalf to minimise disruption and eliminate headaches.
With extensive experience supporting businesses with complex reporting requirements, including multinational groups with UK operations, we deliver a structured, consistent and efficient service. This gives you confidence that your statutory accounts will be prepared accurately, professionally, and on time, allowing you to redirect your internal resources to other critical priorities.
What do we need from you?
To deliver an efficient and accurate statutory accounts preparation service, we follow an established and consistent approach.
To get started, you’ll provide us with:
- A copy of your prior year accounts
- A reconciled trial balance for the entity
- Share-based payment calculations (where applicable)
- Relevant cashflow workings to support accurate disclosures
How this works in practice
Preparation of your accounts
Working to an agreed timetable, we’ll convert your reconciled trial balance into the statutory format, following FRS102 principles. As part of this stage, we will:
- Support with year-end tax journals and required disclosures
- Complete a technical quality control review and sign-off to ensure compliance
- Arrange iXBRL tagging through our preferred external provider, so your accounts are ready for electronic submission to HMRC
- Manage and respond to auditor queries on your behalf
During this period, we’ll need your finance team to be on hand to answer questions and provide any additional information.
Timing and reviews
We usually prepare draft statutory accounts once initial audit fieldwork has begun, ensuring we take a collaborative approach and so early audit adjustments are captured from the outset. Throughout the review process:
- Typically, no more than two iterations of the draft accounts are expected
- Each iteration will include clear, easy-to-follow mark-ups to ensure that you can replicate the adjustments in your own accounting system
Finalising and planning for the next compliance cycle
Once the audit concludes, we’ll finalise any remaining updates to your statutory accounts and ensure the version submitted to Companies House and HMRC meets all compliance requirements.
We’ll also look ahead with you and your auditors to the next compliance cycle – reviewing what worked well, discussing any future changes to your reporting needs, and agreeing on a timeline that will avoid bottlenecks and keep the audit running smoothly year after year.
